Staar Surgical, NFL QB Will Levis to promote implantable lenses

EVO Implantable Collamer lenses (ICLs) work in harmony with the natural eye to provide clear vision without causing dry eye. The FDA-approved lenses correct myopia, which affects distance vision, and myopia with astigmatism, which causes blurred vision.
Levis, about to begin his first NFL season, struggled with his eyesight for 12 years, according to a news release. Earlier this year, he received EVO implants to upgrade his vision and eliminate the need for daily lenses and eyeglasses.
Beginning next month, Levis intends to share his EVO journey to drive education and awareness of the implantable lens platform.
“Getting the EVO lenses has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the amazing results,” said Levis. “The ability to wake up with sharp, clear vision has been a game-changer. After learning about this cutting-edge technology, choosing EVO to upgrade my vision was an easy decision.”
The EVO procedure involves implanting a proprietary, biocompatible, flexible lens made from Collamer. It goes between the iris and the natural lens in a procedure that typically takes between 20 and 30 minutes. Most patients experience improved vision right after the procedure, Staar Surgical said.
“As Will was looking at ways to prepare for his first NFL season, he wanted a premium solution for vision correction. Once he learned about EVO ICL and all of its benefits, EVO became an easy choice for him,” said Tom Frinzi, STAAR Surgical CEO.
